Winter 2016 Online Rosevine

Founders' Day

January 30 more than 550 sisters from Alumnae Chapters in Southern California and collegians from Theta Iota (CSUSM), Lambda Iota (UCSD), Lambda Beta (CSULB), Lambda Alpha (U of Laverne), Chi Psi (Cal Poly SLO), and Sigma Phi (CSUN) celebrated the 119 anniversary of AOII's founding.  Our theme was "Why AOII" and the featured guest speaker was AOII International President Gayle Fitzpatrick (Alpha Rho).  Leslie Friedberg Michaels (Nu Lambda) was named the 2016 Lucile Curtis English Award recipient.

New SCC Award Announced

In a special moment at Founders' Day 2016 a new SCC Award was announced: the Bonnie Berger Award. Bonnie was initiated at Tau Chapter and was a long-time and beloved member of our San Diego Alumnae Chapter. She was a dedicated and selfless volunteer for the Fraternity at the local, regional, and international level and was also active in serving our community. Bonnie was the recipient of AOII's Rose Award and her Rose Award will be worn by the recipient of the new award when it is first given in 2017. We miss you, Bonnie, and are happy your spirit of charity will live on in the award in your name.
