A Promise to Serve
Alpha Omicron Pi was founded on a promise to serve not only one another but the greater community as well. This commitment reflects a philosophy of friendship, concern, and usefulness in the world. The promise to serve can be seen in our support of our collegiate chapters, our contributions to the AOII Foundation, our sisterhood with each other, our alumnae Panhellenic involvement, and our community service projects. In addition, we exhibit our commitment to be servant leaders as we participate in projects that raise funds for AOII’s philanthropy, arthritis research and the American Juvenile Arthritis Organization.
“We wanted a society that should continue our companionship through life, and extend the like joys to others, usefully, unselfishly and without pettiness. We wanted to enshrine, sublimate and perpetuate our love and our unity through service worthy of these blessings, deserving to persist. We wanted a fraternity that should carry on the delightful fellowships and cooperations of college days into the workaday years magnaminously, both in school and afterwards.”
